Upon the Rood-Day: The Full Course
“Upon the Rood-Day: The Witchcraft of Christsonday and the Queen of Elphen” is a comprehensive course in Traditional Witchcraft taught by Robin Artisson. This is the first such course in Witchcraft ever taught by Robin personally, drawing upon and revealing many of his personal and private insights and methods of Witching which have been refined by him over 25 years.
This course includes a survey of Early Modern Witchcraft from Britain, focusing on the regions of Banffshire and Aberdeenshire in Scotland. This course analyzes the mysteries that emerge from the confessions of the historical Scottish witches Andro Man and Marion Grant, regarding the nature of the two beings they claimed gave them power: Christsonday, thought by many to be the Devil, and his mate the Queen of Elphen. The esoteric and historical survey of Witchcraft extends further, into many regions of Europe and the Near East.
Robin’s attempts to contact Christsonday in 2018 led to the creation of a private Grimoire and dream-journal called The Book of Jaudaret, the contents of which contain wonderful (and sometimes disturbing) revelations about the nature of spirits, this world, and instructions for certain sorcerous workings. Many of The Book of Jaudaret’s contents are shared in this course as well.
This course is delivered to students through 16 detailed written and illustrated course modules, totaling over 1600 pages, videos demonstrating certain techniques and operations, and recorded lectures.
All course-takers will be invited to the Serpent Hall Common Room on Facebook, and the Serpent Hall Common Room at our Discord server, where questions for the course instructor will be received and answered regularly, regarding any aspect of the course material, alongside other conversations between students and the instructor. Those who wish to privately correspond with Robin while taking the course are invited to do so.
This course presents a complete working system of Witchcraft or sorcery which is suitable for those who have never practiced any form of the craft before, just as it is suitable for study by advanced practitioners who might greatly benefit their own practices thereby.
The method of Witchcraft taught in this course emerges from Early Modern occult history and practices as well as the course instructor’s own spiritual visions and contacts. It represents a more thorough public sharing of his private working system, developed and proven over a quarter of a century, which has not before been seen.
Upon the Rood-Day: The Foundational Course
The Foundational Course of “Upon the Rood-Day” is a complete introduction and journeyman-level instruction in the esoteric foundations of the Rood-Day system, and its core principles and metaphysical workings. The Foundational Course includes the first 8 Modules of the “Upon the Rood-Day” full course.
The first eight modules cover the esoteric history of Europe and the Near East and Robin’s mystical theories regarding how certain powerful spirits came to be tutelary forces to Witch-cults that emerged in more recent centuries. They also include an examination of the implements required for this Craft, how to obtain and empower them, how to use the human body to create extraordinary cognition and trance states; divination instructions for sortilege or the use of cards of divination; and many instructions for the safe, secretive, and powerful practice of these strange arts.
They also contain the means and methods of creating Incantatory Spells, Witched Water, Crophts and Rings of Witching, and a grimoire called The Santrin, giving the necessary information for the creation of different workings.
Topics such as relating to the “Good Neighbors” or the local spirits of one’s own land, rituals of devotion to these older powers, and many other needful things are covered. The final module also contains an entire complete system of spirit-conjuration which allows for practitioners to attempt communion with named spirits from the Grimoire tradition of Early Modern Europe, as well as others.

Upon the Rood-Day: The Advanced Course
The Advanced Course of “Upon the Rood-Day” gives master-level instructions in some of the more advanced works of the Sorcerous Arts of history. It is necessary that students taking the Advanced Course have taken and completed the Foundational Course.
The Advanced Course covers a full methodology of creating and using verbal sigils and the basic uses of the Benedicite Spell or Working; it discusses the creation and use of warding and protecting signs in different forms, the creation of “Soul Signs” or visual sigils and their various means of use, the capturing and gaining of a Witch-name, the process of the Witch-baptism, and the “first degree” of Shapeshifting.
It also includes instruction in using the Oneiric Prayer technique to arrange soul-familiarity with Christsonday and the Queen of Elphen or powerful beings like them; potent advanced lucid dreaming techniques, the method of the Necromancy of Intelligence, the method of petitioning for Magisterial (teaching) dreams from powerful entities; the advanced workings of the Benedicite Charm, a very old and powerful method of making physical Petitions to the Netherworld; a survey of the metaphysics of Hexing and baneful workings along with certain “pointed” instructions in the method of the “Pricking Hex”, and the means of unlocking the ancient Labyrinth sign and symbol to gain access to the inner spaces of the soul.
As with the Foundational Course, all takers of the Advanced Course will have access to around-the-clock Q&A support with the course instructor.
Electives and Occult Studies
Askion: The Oracle of the Underworld
This course in divination draws its means and method from the ancient Greek Magical Papyri and reveals an accessible means of using a certain form of the Ephesia Grammata to create a potent oracle of divination and communication with the Queen of the Underworld and the ecology of spirit-beings who surround her.
This was Robin’s first-ever course, taught some years ago, before the foundation of Serpent Hall. It contains 6 modules- all delivered upon course purchase- which give a vivid historical background for the Art of Divination generally and the Ephesia Grammata, the wider spiritual ecology that these special letters and words exist within and invoke, how they relate to other ancient beliefs in different parts of the world, and how the spiritual forces connected to them can be capable of the kinds of perceptions of time and events that make them oracular and able to assist us in life.
The instructions for the creation of the Lots, and their empowerment, casting, and use are spelled out in perfect detail. More advanced uses for the Oracle-Lots, including a powerful dream oracle connected to them, is also included in this insightful journey through Classical divination and sorcerous methods.
